Condorcet.orgThis web site is named as a tribute to the French Enlightenment Philosopher, the Marquis de Condorcet (1745-1794). The Enlightenment was an 18th century movement among intellectuals. It is a major reason that we now treat the Bubonic plague with anti-biotics, rather than by immolating elderly women. Condorcet (pronounced condor-say) was one of the most forward thinking members of this movement, and some of his ideas are still intriguing today. Particularly his theories on voting and social choice. I like to think he would have found this site interesting. By the way, I'm B.l.a.k.e C.r.e.t.n.e.y Email Address . |
